DESCRIPTION
MonoSeal is a one-component (add water only), Portland cement based coating containing silica-based materials. Under water pressure, the soluble silicate penetrates into the substrate, where it reacts with lime and forms insoluble calcium silicate crystals which “plug” the capillary pores and waterproofs the concrete while allowing water vapor to pass.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
* Barrier Materials. Simple application (brush or spray)
* Negative- or positive-side waterproofing.
* Seals dynamic cracks up to 1.5 mm.
* Fast cure waterproofing.
* Approved for potable water tanks.
* Waterproofs highly porous concrete.
* Non-flammable.
* Economical to use
COMPLIED STANDARD
• ASTM D4541-17
• AMST C384-14
RECOMMENDED USES
MonoSeal can be use for water tanks, water treatment Tank, Fire tank retaining walls, foundations, concrete pipes, sumps, bridge decks.
METHOD TO USE
Surface preparation
Ensure all surface where Monoseal is to be applied must be free from oil, grease, wax, loose materials and any previous surface treatment, which may harmfully affect the adhesion. Areas with weak or honeycombed concrete, as well as hollow debonded render, must be repaired. Surface to be treated must be pre-wetted and still be damp at the time of application.
Mixing
Add approximately 7 to 8 litres of water to every 25kg bag of MonoSeal and mix for approximately 3 to 5 minutes using mechanical mixer to get a lump-free, homogeneous and creamy consistency. For vertical surface application, the water may be reduced to minimize run off on the surface. Do not add additional water after initial mixing.
Application Method
By brush application
Apply a basecoat of MonoSeal in slurry consistency at a uniform rate of (0,8– 1.0 kg/m²) using appropriate compressed-air spray equipment, stiff masonry brush, or stiff broom. Apply the second coat of MonoSeal at a uniform rate of (0.75-1.0 kg/m²) after basecoat has reached initial set but is still “green”.
By spay and sprinkling application:
- With 3.0-4.0 kg/m2 all the surface need to waterproofing
Curing
The slow drying of MonoSeal is to ensure homogeneous curing and high waterproofing characteristics. MonoSeal must be protected from rapid drying due to high temperature or strong wind, and cure by plastic sheet
PACKING
MonoSeal premix is a one-component material packaged 25 kg bag
SHELF LIFE
MonoSeal 1 has a shelf life of 12 months in tightly closed original packing
